Camas Day: Volunteers Needed!

Dear Friends of Uplands Park

Volunteers are needed to set up for Camas Day Celebration on Sunday May 1 from 10 to 12 noon, to take down tents, tables etc at 3 pm, and to help during the event:  looking after children’s activities, or the FOUP table, or (out)Door Prizes, or refreshments.

Donations of prizes would be appreciated.

Please consider helping at Camas Day Celebration.  Contact Margaret at mlidkea@shaw.ca or 250-595-8084.

Saturday April 30 Bird Walk with Geoffrey Newell.  Meet at 8:00am at Cattle Point with your binoculars.  Birds are building nests and starting families.

Sunday May 1 from 12 to 3pm is Camas Day Celebration, so there will be no Invasive plant removal that Sunday.  No Ivy League will resume on Sunday May 8 from 1 to 3 pm, meeting at the Dorset entrance near Beach Drive.  We will be removing Scotch broom, thistles and other weeds from the big new meadow restored by Willows School students since 2016.  Tools and gloves supplied with refreshments at the end.
