Greater Victoria City Nature Challenge is happening NOW!

📸📸The GREATER VICTORIA City Nature Challenge is happening now 📸📸

If you haven’t already, get outside and join your community in documenting the fabulous species of flora, fauna and everything weird and wonderful in between that call our Capital Region home!

Join FOUPS tomorrow at our Camas Day Celebration, where experts from the BC iNaturalist Project will be onsite sharing their expertise and how iNaturalist is being used to support scientific research!
Then you can upload some of the 500+ species found in the park on one of our botanist-guided wildflower nature walks 🌿🌳🌞💚

For help and tips on how to use iNaturalist, click here.

For events happening all this weekend, click here.

When you head into Uplands Park, keep your eyes open for some of the 679 (and counting!) species that you can expect to find! An incredible 246 new species observations were made since 2020; the result of a collaboration of citizen scientists doing exactly what this challenge asks!

A huge thanks to Bob McDougall for curating and sharing these lists!

Happy iNaturalizing and see you in Uplands Park tomorrow!
