Here are opportunities for you to support the UN Decade on Ecological Restoration 2021 to 2030

Wednesday June 23 UPLANDS PARK 9:30 to 11:30 Join Friends of Uplands Park at the Dorset entrance to the main park, near Beach Drive.  We will be pulling out invasive crow garlic and isolating it in garbage bags.  Oak Bay Parks will destroy these weeds.  These invaders would be impossible to remove in anyone’s garden!  Gloves and bags provided.  Covid protocols followed.  Wear suitable clothing including hats.  Bring water.

Saturday June 26 ANDERSON HILL 10 to 12 noon Join Christina Johnson Dean to remove invasive plants at Anderson Hill.  Covid protocols followed.  Bring tools and gloves or use ours.Contact cjohnsondean@gmail.com for information

Sunday June 27, July 18, August 22 BOWKER CREEK  10 to 12 noon Join Jacquie Bird behind the Oak Bay High School on the upper pathway.Tools and gloves are available, though if people want to bring their own, they are more than welcome to do so.Co-Vid Protocols of the day will be followed.Dress for the weather and bring water. If any questions, please contact Jacquie at JacquieBird@outlook.com

Sunday June 27 UPLANDS PARK 1 to 3 pm Join Friends of Uplands Park to remove invasive weeds with a fun group.  Meet at the Cattle Point Marine Kiosk at 1 pm. Tools and gloves are provided.  Covid protocols followed.   Dress for the weather; bring water.

THE HEALTH OF THE NATURAL OAK BAY PARKS DEPENDS ON COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS.  Consider volunteering with organizations that have permission from Oak Bay Parks, to become a responsible community contributor.

Restoration in Uplands Park

Thank you everyone who helped to remove scotch broom in Uplands Park this past Sunday 💚

We will be meeting again this coming Sunday (1-3pm) – meet us at the Cattle Point info kiosk and we’ll provide clean tools, gloves and Covid protocols.
