Native Cicada sighted emerging in Uplands Park – May 25, 2016.

A beautiful photo, by Wylie Thomas, of a newly emerged Cicada, found in Uplands Park. Photo taken May 25, 2016.

James Miskelly confirms identity and comments:

“Okanagana occidentalis is the local species. We have only two cicadas, this one and a smaller one that ticks rather than drones. Never seen one of these in May before!”
