Biodiversity is fundamental to healthy ecosystems and you can be an integral part of documenting the amazing species that surround us in the Greater Victoria area!
This April 29th – May 2nd, join forces with friends and neighbours in observing and documenting our region’s plants, animals, fungi and everything in between by taking part in the iNaturalist City Nature Challenge 2022: Greater Victoria.
Instructions for the Challenge, as well as for using iNaturalist, can be found here.
Information from the CRD can be found here.
When you head into Uplands Park, keep your eyes open for some of the 679 (and counting!) species that you can expect to find! An incredible 246 new species observations were made since 2020; the result of a collaboration of citizen scientists doing exactly what this challenge asks!
A huge thanks to Bob McDougall for curating and sharing these lists!
