Camas (Kwetlal) Day – Sunday May 4 12:00-3:00pm
May 4, 2025 @ 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

The Friends of Uplands Park Society is having its free annual Camas Day celebration in Uplands Park on Sunday May 4 from 12 to 3.
Over 17 organizations will be displaying at tables while Ron Carter and Bald Eagles play music for your ears. Everyone will be welcomed by dignitaries at the beginning.
Camas Meadow Walks will start about 12:30 and be an hour long, led by botanists. Family activities will entertain the children, along with free refreshments for all with sandwiches from Thrifty’s, coffee from Oak Bay Starbucks and other tasty treats by FOUP. Everyone can enter the free “door” (or is it “outdoor” ) prize draw to win native plants. We are encouraging people to plant native plants in their private gardens to “mix it up” and provide indigenous food to the indigenous insects and birds so their populations increase. Last year over 400 people enjoyed this event.
Parking is available at Cattle Point and along Beach Drive, but please park on the road.
If people have mobility issues, please contact us to provide a temporary place, for a car to let the handicapped have easy access.
