Bird Walks Resuming Starting March 25th

Hello Friends of Uplands Park,

Spring is here and we’re off to a new start.  With loosening covid restrictions, the weather warming up, and spring migrants on their way back north, we are resuming Geoffrey’s monthly bird walks.  The first one will be this coming Friday, March 25th, meeting at Cattle Point at 8:00 a.m.  Winter birds are still here and the first migrant Rufous Hummingbirds, Violet-green and Tree Swallows, and Yellow-rumped Warblers have arrived.  In Uplands Park, wildflowers are starting to bloom, Purple Finches are singing, and Spotted Towhees are collecting nesting material.  High gumboots are still necessary to hike some of the trails.
