Louise Goulet’s signs in the Willows School Restoration Area

LOUISE GOULET has created and donated signs for identifying the native wildflowers planted by the students of Ecole Willows Elementary School. The area off Dorset Road was formerly part of Uplands Farm and had virtually no native plants but was covered by English ivy and other invasives.

Oak Bay Parks removed the multitude of Norway maple trees, the students removed the ivy, and adult volunteers removed the poisonous Daphne. Students then planted about $12,000 worth of native plants!

Take a walk along the crescent trail to find the flowers. MANY THANKS to LOUISE!
