Thanks to Councillor Tara Ney, and Chris Hyde-lay, Helen and Tyler of Oak Bay Parks, for supporting and planning the landscape restoration for the Cenotaph. The weedy plants and soil were water blasted from the rock supporting the Cenotaph statue.
Special thanks to Rene de Vos for initiating the involvement of Friends of Uplands Park.On November 7, 2020, Rene de Vos, Jacquie Bird, Sandy Currie, Christina Johnson-Dean, Cathy Savage and myself removed weedy grasses and Scotch broom on the north side of the Cenotaph lawn and planted native Oregon grape, Douglas’ aster and Mock orange.
