David Newell sends the following invitation:
Geoffrey’s next birding is on Saturday, July 30 at 8:00 a.m.. Please note this early start in the summer. Later than that would be just too not for the birds by the time we get into the park!
Please meet at the end of Cattle Point. The shorebirds are moving through in large numbers right now for their fall migration, so it is our hope that we will spot some really exciting novelties. The fall migration in which birds are starting to head south after breeding in the north is also happening in the park right now. Whe should see some Band-tailed Pigeons and Cedar Waxwings for example! Hope you are all taking advantage of this fine weather!
Did you know that Geoffrey has determined that 214 species of birds have been identified in the park over the years? A good number of them have been found through his relentless efforts! He has really helped to change the perception of the park as a hotspot for birds, even in the minds of the best of birders! Uplands Park is a true birding paradise to behold!
